Description

Discover history, architecture, and adventure at each of the plantations you'll visit along the legendary River Road. You'll visit Oak Alley Plantation for a tour full of adventure. Built in 1837-39. It is famous for its alley of 28 evenly spaced Live Oak trees, believed to be at least 100 years older than the big house.Explore Louisiana's back country with its meandering and marshlands that can be experienced in the historic Manchac Swamp You'll set out on an educational journey to the early days of Louisiana's bayou and swamp explorations. Swamp creatures, seeing our boats every day, recognize them as part of their normal environment and will pop up from the underbrush and among the moss-covered trees and shrubs, often coming directly to the boat.In the safety and comfort of the boat, you can actually get within a few feet of the jumping alligators. As your boat traverses the waterways, you will learn about the history of the Cajun town of Frenier in the Manchac Swamp.
