Unforgettable animal encounters
Delight in the Penguin Encounter and meet the playful Gentoo Penguins in a replicated natural habitat, the first in the region to house these fascinating creatures. See the tiniest of the 13 otter species, the Asian small-clawed otters at Otter Encounter, and interact with the graceful Eagle Rays and Cow Nose Rays in the Ray Encounter. Complete your visit with the Shark Trainer, a special program that educates visitors about the different Shark species and their environment, feeding, and breeding habitats.

Skip the long lines and step into the world of marine life at The Barcelona Aquarium. The aquarium is perhaps the best place for families with kids to learn about marine biodiversity and the importance of marine conservation, two themes that run close to everything the Aquarium does in terms of its activities and it's set up. The facility is divided into 35 aquariums and enclosures that house approximately 11,000 animals across 450 species. As such, there is no doubt plenty to see and admire here, but there are some things that you just can't miss!
The three main zones include Planeta Aqua, the Oceanarium, and Explora! Children's Area, each more unique than the other. Needless to say, if you have little ones tagging along with you, make sure they check out the Explora! zone to help spark up an interest in oceanology!

Oceanogràfic
Featuring aquatic creatures and plants from all over the globe, Oceanogràfic is the biggest oceanographic park in Europe. The park is divided into themed zones that depict various ecosystems, including the Mediterranean, wetlands, arctic, and tropical regions. Sharks, dolphins, sea lions, sea horses, and many other types of marine life call these regions home.
The water at the Dolphinarium reaches a depth of 10.5 meters, and the tank can store almost 24 million gallons of water. Explore the facility and get insight into the habits of over 45,000 marine animals representing 500 species, such as belugas, sea lions, and sharks. After you've worked up an appetite, visit the restaurant below the surface (not included). It also has a research and teaching facility in addition to a wide range of attractions including dolphin shows and sea lion displays.
At the 4D Theater, you may feel a wide range of experiences. Get immersed in a narrative while the wind, snow, and light dance about you in the Red Sea Auditorium's screening room. Taking this fantastic behind-the-scenes tour will provide you with unique access to the inner workings of such a massive establishment. See how 960,000 liters of seawater are brought in and filtered, and get insights into the care given to the aquarium's aquatic inhabitants.
Hemisfèric
At the heart of Valencia, Spain's City of Arts and Sciences stands the Hemisfèric, an IMAX theater, and planetarium. The hemispherical dome screen creates a panoramic and enveloping viewing environment. Tourists may see anything from Hollywood blockbusters to indie features, as well as documentaries and other instructional films.
The Hemisfèric also has a Laserium, an area where visitors may see lasers being used to generate various animations and effects. The laser display, with its accompanying music and sound effects, is quite captivating. The Hemisfèric also has several hands-on displays that delve into various scientific and technological topics, including optics and sound. Visitors may also participate in a variety of hands-on activities, such as games and exhibits, to get a deeper understanding of the newest advancements in science and technology.

Oceanogràfic
With a building shaped like a water lily, Oceanogràfic in Valencia is hard to miss. What’s even more impressive is that this is the largest aquarium in Europe, and is home to 45,000 sea creatures from 500 species! Explore the upper floor, which is surrounded by a lake that hosts flamingos, pelicans, and cormorants. The lower floor is where you can see for yourself how the many marine ecosystems of the world thrive, be it wetlands, temperate and tropical seas, or the oceans of the world. Spot unique aquatic creatures here including belugas and sea lions!
Science Museum
The ticket also includes access to the Science Museum, where you can learn about science and space in an interactive, and entertaining way. Fun fact: the building was designed in the form of a whale’s skeleton and aims to bring science and technology closer to the public in an enjoyable way. One of the exhibitions here that you are allowed to touch, feel, and think about is the Electricity Theatre. Watch as an eccentric inventor demonstrates the principles of electricity - your hair might literally stand on end by the end!
