Your experience
Lose yourself in the wonders of nature, science, and culture on your visit to the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) in New York City. Start by exploring the depths of our planet and reach the end of the cosmos, with over 30 million specimens and artifacts spread across multiple exhibits and galleries.
Special ticketed exhibits
You can access one special ticketed exhibit along with these experiences on your trip to the Museum. These are primarily rotating exhibits present at the Museum. Learn about the past and future of the majestic elephants in The Secret World of Elephants exhibit, or get a chance to witness butterflies emerge from their cocoon at the Davis Family Butterfly Vivarium. Experience the world like never before in Invisible Worlds, an immersive exhibit, or Worlds Beyond Earth: Space Show.
Fossil Halls and Geological Marvels
Marvel at the Tyrannosaurus rex and Stegosaurus fossils, and see many more archaeological wonders of prehistoric life. Or visit the Mignone Halls of Gems and Minerals for their display of Earth’s geological treasures, featuring over 5,000 specimens, including amethyst geodes and other luminous minerals. Learn about the Earth’s history and the natural forces that shaped it.
Marine Ecosystems and Evolutionary Tales
Dive deep into the ocean at the Milstein Hall of Ocean Life and see the life-size, 94-foot-long blue whale model. Explore the diverse marine ecosystems, from tiny plankton to majestic sea creatures. Visit the Bernard Family Hall of North American Mammals and Akeley Hall of African Mammals for their realistic dioramas.
